Well, it is a polymeric structure with a characteristic honeycomb shape, which is buried in the ground. Why does it provide an economical solution? Because thanks to the possibility of using local backfill materials and reducing construction elements by up to 50% (compared to traditional methods), cellular geo-grid can significantly reduce the cost of the entire construction project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong><strong>What is the main application of cellular geo-grid?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cellular geo-grid provides ground reinforcement, and its applications are almost limitless. It is used in the construction of highways, national roads, forest roads and railroads, as well as for strengthening embankment structures, slopes and embankments. Cellular geonets are also used in hydrotechnical structures, such as water reservoirs, diversions and river channels. In fact, cellular geonets are applicable not only for large construction projects, and anyone can use them, for example, when building an access road or parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong><strong>Formation of cellular geo-grid in 5 steps<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>What is the process of manufacturing cellular geo-grid? Well, it all starts with the preparation of the raw material, i.e. <strong>high-density polyethylene (HDPE)<\/strong>. It is worth mentioning at this point that it is an environmentally friendly material that is extremely lightweight, durable, resistant to water, as well as UV rays. Importantly, high-density polyethylene is fully recyclable, and it can even be used in Natura 2000 conservation areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Step 1: Prepare the material<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Polyethylene is supplied in granular form, which is pre-dried at 70\u00b0C. The drying process takes about an hour and during this time a minimum of half a ton of material is processed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Step 2: Plasticizing and forming the tape<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After drying, the pellets go into the extruder's feed hopper, where the process of plasticizing the material begins. The polyethylene is plasticized in the cylinder of the extruder, and then it is formed into a two-meter wide strip of a predetermined thickness.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Step 3: Perforate the tape and the idea of zero waste<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The next production step is the perforation of the strip, which allows it to adapt to the hydrological conditions in the ground. A press with a pressing force of as much as 250 tons cuts drainage holes that allow adequate water permeability. Importantly, all waste, (i.e. the cut-out circles) is reused in the production process, which is fully in line with the zero-waste idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Step 4: Cutting and welding<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After perforation, the tape is cut into strips of the desired dimensions. These strips, are then joined into sections using an ultrasonic welding machine. This process results in a flexible honeycomb structure, which consists of forty or sixty interconnected strips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Step 5: Testing and quality control of the cellular geonet<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each section of the cellular geonet undergoes detailed testing. The minimum strength of perforated tape over a 100-millimeter section is 1260 newtons. It is thanks to the rigorous tests that we carry out on a special machine at Geo Globe's facilities that we know that the resulting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoglobe.pl\/en\/case-study-realization-of-the-highest-flying-smartmaxx-cellular-geo-grid-at-kopaonik-ski-station\/\" title=\"Case Study: Realization of the highest order - Smartmaxx cellular geo-grid at Kopaonik ski station\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"217\">Cellular geogrid meets the highest<\/a> quality standards. The finished mesh then goes directly to customers or to construction sites.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong><strong>How is cellular geo-grid delivered to customers?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The finished sections of cellular geo-grid are cut to one of eight manufactured heights, rolled and stretched. Customers can choose from as many as 12 different sizes and four <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geomaxx.pl\">colors of cellular geonets<\/a>: green, beige, brown and black.
